From a Crystal Reports perspective, within my EMR system, I can link for OBS.value to the related DOCUMENT via the sdid paramter. And, inside a Flowsheet if I click on an entry it will open the originating document.
I am trying to do the same within a VFE view.
For example, the OBS for COLONOSCOPY is often simply 'done'. But I want to be able to display on the screen the text for the document report that set the OBS. This will typically be the doctor's report and comments.
And then to do the same for MAMMO, PAP, ...
While there are overall guidelines on re-testing intervals, the doctors want to quickly review the text of these reports to make a decision if a follow-up test should be ordered at this office visit.
So, is there anyway within VFE Forms for me to know about related DOCUMENTS?
Thanks.
Kind of,
The objects available for documents can get you the basic information into VFE forms, things like the document type, summary, date, provider, etc. I have searched far and wide and never found a way to call the text of a document that isnt the active document in the chart. So you could list or display related documents for reference, but with VFE you can't display that documents contents. If you are interested the related objects are in mldefs6, and I have a list somewhere of the ones that contain information about all of the patients documents.
