When a provider gets numerous eRx refill requests for the same patient(different meds though), can the provider just do a Refill Prescription(above patient banner) and knock them all out in one update....or do they have to do each individual "Rx Refill: eRx Request for..." document?
I wondering if this would affect CQR/MU numbers by removing all the requests and just doing one update(Refill Prescription) to knock them all out.
It isn't often that this happens but when one of our providers receives duplicate requests, we simply remove them.
What we have done is sign all the requests then start a refill in the chart and add them all within that refill so they do get sent. We haven't seen our MU numbers go down when doing this.
We have always had as part of our refill workflows to always refill each and every refill. If it is a duplicate request, we reply with that information since the e-Prescribe manual states:
Per the "Advanced e-Prescribing-Manual CPS" refill request " Once you implement Refill Request, you will be expected to respond to at least 50% of refill request within 48 hrs time per month. If you do not meet this, you could not recieve refill request for 14 days."
Our CQR numbers are high 90% for all of our Providers.
We also get an average of 200 refill request daily for 9 providers.
