Is there a way to program a button to order a referral? I can only choose Service or Test in the drop down list.

Sorry, but per the GE documentation, MEL_ADD_ORDER cannot add referrals.

There are rumors of it being added in Service Pack 8. I am hoping for it be there.

That functionality appeared in an early 9.8 webinar, presented way back in Fall2013, but then dropped off later iterations. It certainly would be a great option for improving physician ease-of-use functionality in Orders.

We created referrals as test orders and have found it much easier to track and report on. We are pedi primary care so our referrals are mostly for internal use only so it works for us.
